[1.1.74] Is it possible that the passthrough of the module to read out the belt isnt working as it should?

Hello

i am from germany. My english isnt good but i try my best to explain what my problem is.

In my test facility i tried to set my module placed on the belt to let 10 iron plates through it and after that the belt module should stop working.

As you can see in the first picture i tried to illustrate the set up of my test facility and the functions i have set to the module on the belt (green rectangle), the combinator (red rectangle) and unfortunately not illustrated (my mouse pointer hovered over the combinator) with the information window that pops up under the map (blue rectangle).

I pulled two red cables. One from the belt module to the combinator input and second one form the combinator input to the combinator output. The combinator serves as a counter. It should read the iron plates signal that will come from the belt module (as iron plates pass the belt module) and should send this information back to the belt module to let the module know when it should stop working.

Now i have connected the belt full with iron plates with belt below him.

As you can see in the picture below in result the belt module sent 10 iron plates signals to the combinator (see blue rectangle) but only 2 iron plates passed the belt module to the end of the belt. The rest 8 iron plates are retained by the belt module.

Is this a bug?

No. You set it up to stop when it counted 10 iron plates and that is what it did.

I would propose to draw another cable to the belt before the current one and this should have the en-/disable condition, while the other one only reads the pulse.

The belt segment reads the iron plates as they enter the belt, so what you are doing is counting 10 entering the belt, then disabling it before they have cleared off.

You should do as jodokus31 suggests: read your 10 from one belt segment, then disable the belt segment that feeds it (the one immediately prior).

Thank you very much.

That solved my problem.
