Hello,

I have a base not a right place where I started the game. I had an accident with a train losing all my stuff and my current respawn position is NOW inside an alien base. Because I respawn with a new player without any stuff, no armor, no guns, etc. I'm not able to survive few seconds when I respawn and I'm blocked, I'm not able to continue my game anymore because I have a respawn position inside a new Alien base.

Do you have solution to continue my game or I lost it?

Please help me! I just bought the game on the Switch!!

Thank you

I don't know how it is on a Switch, but on the PC there are autosaves (every 5 minutes as default) and you can load a previous autosave just as a regular save. However, they got overwritten with your tries to survive, if you don't load one in time.

I usually load some previous save if I got overrun by a train, because it's kind of embarrassing for me to be overrun by a train, and I don't want to keep embarrassing things in my save

If you don't have a prior save to reload from, there are still a few options (though tbh, I don't know if the Switch version has all of these):
  • Use the console command /editor. Will disable achievements (and requires submitting twice), but you'll be able to move the respawn point, or simply wipe out the biters where you are respawning.
  • Use Map Editor from the main menu to load your save, then do the same as above. However, this will then need to be saved as a scenario, which means you'll need to start a new game with this scenario as the base. I don't know what affects this has on achievements, but for gameplay purposes I think all it will do otherwise is reset the game.tick to 0.
  • You might be able to get someone to create a small mod that will move the respawn point (you'll either need to share the save or use another means that reports your [X,Y] position so you can tell them where to move it) or clear all biters and nests in a certain radius from the respawn point. This will also disable achievements, but doesn't require loading your save as a scenario or trying to beat death with typing /editor into the console.
Unfortunately, this game isn't really able to tell where safe areas are to respawn, so it just uses the player's original starting position of [0,0] as that respawn point, so you don't want to give that area up. Ever.

Good idea, I play on the Switch but I've my own server. I had forgotten the autosaves.

Thank you.
