(SE) After some time I have save file more than 800 Mb, during Autosave or Save I have crush game. I have trimmed all planets and areas. Now I should explore more one area and cant, because after open this ares I cant save games.

Should I change some settings? Or this is some bug?

What is the amount of RAM on your computer?
I can firmly say only about the vanilla game - the size of the save in it is definitely allowed many times more than your save

I have 8 Gb RAM.
What is the size of your saves and how long take one save?

It is highly likely that when adding memory, it will be possible to play more with this save.
How much memory is the factorio.exe process in task manager?
My save is about 3.6 GB and continues to grow It saves for about two minutes - it's almost instantaneous.

For now it’s take 13 Gb in RAM. But unfortunately I can’t add more memory, because Im playing om MacBook

Under MacOS (I have Catalina) Factorio works much nicer than under Windows (but this is my humble opinion, not confirmed by anyone) As you can see, the factorio process already takes up more RAM than it actually physically has.
You don't think that since the size of the save \ maps grows, then a tiny amount of memory will always be enough for everything ??
I also admit that there are no critical errors in the mods used, and they work just as perfectly as a vanilla game))
As an option - try on another computer with better characteristics to run your save.

Yep, RAM became weak part but it’s not seen during playing and I thought that can be fixed by some settings.

Anyway I will try found another test PC

And time to think about upgrade my Mac

I just changed Catalina to Monterey, it works fine with my save (again, a little nicer than on Win10

Look like after upgrade to Ventura 13.0 crashes gone
