TL;DR

I would like to be able to tell Factorio not to put the version number in my window title bar. This will help OBS keep track of the window better.

What ?

I would like to be able to set a custom window title, as I use several installations and a single starting script that preloads a better memory allocation library.

Having several windows open called "Factorio 1.1.50" is not helpful. My script could pass `--title "Factorio (Development)"` to have it displayed specifically so I know this is the running instance where I maintain mods.

At the least, I would like to completely remove the version from the window title. OBS loses track of Factorio every time it updates, so I have to change the window capture properties.

Why ?

It will be less effort for streamers to start for the day.

Actually, that are two suggestions. Which one is more important?

yeah this suggestion is old i also did that... if im not wrong obs get it there was some sort of other setting for it try different "window" mode

on Windows maybe. find the other suggestion and merge them then, who cares?

Kovarex say no. In OBS 23.1.0 Window Capture and Game Capture had exact same window matching pritority options (I chose "Match tile, otherwise find window of the same executable.")

Therefore I move it to won’t implement.

not an option on Linux. literally everything you mention is Windows specific. please don't overeagerly close the suggestions.

OBS only offers a single style of window capture on Linux, which doesn't have any sort of knowledge about the executable, because, that's not how window systems work on Linux. it's a client-server networked architecture.
