I have discovered pleasant tracks from this thread from genre i didn't know or wouldn't have explored on my own, and since the recent FFF are about music i wanted to bump it, because it may serve to illustrate what players like to listen to when playing when it's not the music of the game ^^

I wanted to share my favourite epic violin video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTvvf9rYgN4 , i would not play it when doing some belts or wiring, more when building defense, or for combat but it also work when doing simple thing like walking in the street or in a park with that kind of music playing lound in a headset gives you around + 200% energy for that day.

Another long one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fr-CuY0H38A This one is called 80s Nostalgic Synthwave // Electro Chillwave, it has nothing to do with the previous one, i enjoy listening to such genre too, it's a different atmosphere this is for patience stat boost + 50% and + 50% smile + 50% dreams or so.

I'll throw Tiberium Sun's OST on YT in here. Very fitting soundscape I feel.

First Shift - Morning shift. Lets have a good time. Why did third shift do this? They are supposed to prep and clean.
Smokestack Lightning - Howling Wolf
Johnny B. Goode - Chuck Berry
Long Tall Sally - Little Richard
Misirlou - Dick Dale

Second Shift - Day shift. We get business done. First shift didn't prep fast enough. Now we have to leave work for third shift....
Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne
Metal Health - Quiet Riot
Kickstart My Heart - Motley Crue
Run Home - Priestess

Third Shift - Night shift. We clean. Now we have to clean; I rushed and clean I didn't prep.
Counting Stars - One Republic
Blank Generation - Richard Hell
Used to Darkness - Des Rocks
S.O.B. - Nathaniel Rateliffe and the Night Sweats

If you want something less ambient and more driving/aggressive, I’d go with industrial metal and drum & bass instead.

Rammstein definitely works for the “heavy machinery” side of Factorio, and for the faster, hyper-efficient factory mood I’d add stuff like Pendulum, Noisia, The Prodigy, Celldweller, Blue Stahli, KMFDM, Static-X, and maybe a bit of Combichrist too.

I'm not sure I should encourage you considering the content of that artist. But you did make me feel 17 years younger than I am  .

I like instrumental things so when I am in that mood I will listen to GOST or Carpenter Brut.

A bit more gentle, uhm. Dubmood. Badlands is a good track of theirs.

I usually have a movie I've seen before on my second screen when playing, but if I do play to music, it's usually going to be Bjork, the Shins, or Lou Reed. Don't ask me why, because I have no idea.

I really like some tense, synthy songs -- I usually reach for Mr. Robot OST by Mac Quayle

Guillaume David
Children of the Omnissiah - 10 Hour Version

The Mechanicus OST is also acceptable - hopefully the next game also has a banger soundtrack
