If you are getting errors, such as .wav
you have mods enabled. Every single mod that has a single .wav file needs to be updated, all .wav files were changed to .ogg, It took me a while to fix my mod.

go to your factorio/mods folder, and open mod-list.json
turn all mods to false except for base. You need to wait for them to update.

For those who still can't figure out how to update:

1) Start up the game.
2) On the Main Menu screen, click "Options"
3) On the Options screen, click "Other"
4) On the Other Settings screen, click "Enable Experimental Updates" check box (second from the bottom)
5) Click "Back"
6) Click "Back" again
7) Click "Exit"
8) Start up the game again.
9) When prompted for "Automatic Updates" click "Update Now"
10) Enjoy the loading bar action!

I've tried uninstalling Factorio and re-installing.
I've tried deleting "small-pump-up.png" but it's the same error.

When the automatic update download finishes this error appears.
What can I do to remedy this issue?
Is there a way I could manually download the update .zip file? I could just copy the files myself.

Is this a bug or did you nerf piercing shotgun shells? They do 6 base dmg and fire a single bullet every time I pull the trigger, making shotgun essentially useless.
This is true, and it's making hard defending against big biters too :)

Login the website

Download a NEW FRESH 0.9.8

Install that in a DIFFERENT folder as the current game

Run it, enable updates, close it, run it again, update

Try that

Thank you for the suggestion, however it is the same result.

Tried it, same error as before. We would probably have to wait for devs :-)

What windows version are you using, and what game version?

Works fine here with Win 7 64bit and 64bit game (x64)

Game did crash on updating, but restarted automatically fine afterwards, it also needed admin privillege's during the update

Edit: and what system language

Hello, the win32 update package was corrupted (for the small-pump file) for reason unknown to me. I tested only the 64 bit package when releasing (yes silly me).

Now I repacked and reuploaded the win32 package and tested, that it works now.

How'd you manage to corrupt a png :p

On a side note: stacks are 50 now? I think they were 64 or 128? (or higher, spoiled with mods I am ...)

Stacks are now 10 based, to match the circuit/requester settings, the amount might change, they were mostly changed to the nearest suitable value.

I love the new graphics. Especially the new loading screen.
This looks great :)

50 feels low ... for now. Just started a new fresh 0.10.0 and my inventory is getting quite full with stone and coal. Guess I need to evaluate storage ...

Liking the new graphics tho :)

My update keeps crashing with "boost::filesystem:remove:" error (x64). What's this?

UPD: The process stuck in OS for some reason and refused to be removed. After I rebooted the PC, update went nicely.

First thing I tried was replaying my 0.9.8 saves. Then realized it only works for v0.10 game saves. Which makes sense if there was nothing recorded in 0.9.8 saves then their is nothing to replay :P. I like this update nothing major gameplay wise. Just a lot of polish. :D Loving the new graphics. The new sounds were barely audible though. Had to turn environment sounds all the way up so i could hear them.

I guess the "create more meaningful difficulties" didn't make it into this version?

My only suggestion for a future patch would be to provide better scaling on high resolution monitors. As of now the icons / gui is tiny on my screen.

Keep up the good work! :)

When "playing" the trailer mod, I get an error at the point when the train enters the frame about unable to serialize Lua

Why not make the replay a zip file including the mods currently in use?

Restricting a replay to the version that created it is fine for now, especially since it's still early days for the game and the replay feature. But if you get to a point where a lot of the changes are simply number tweaks for balance, or totally new buildings, it might make more sense to support loading older replays.
