Are you 100% certain those are 4 entity stacks? They don't look it to me.

They’re not stacks, the inserters are just outputting 4 items at a time. Honestly, it’s much more clearly visible in video form, I suggest you take a look for yourself in the fff. It’s in the bacteria production video.
