What kind of audio device(s) do you use?
Do you have a different one (for example USB headphones instead of the onboard soundcard, etc.) you could try to see if the issue remains?

With version 1.1.71, the SDL and its audio backend has been updated to a newer version.
Could any of you who had audio issues try out the new version?

hey i just singed up for this forum to tell you this,
1. i deserve to get banned from factorio and here for bringing such shame to my family name
2. my issue was either not installing the right drivers or the fact that i used {sudo} for everything... both 1.70 and 1.71 worked fine when i untared again in a nonroot folder without sudo permissions...
im actually suicidal...

(rest is useless justifications for doing such a dumb thing):
this game is fantastic but im autistic and had to optimize my 2013 macbook air for it (just like my factories )because im in uni and cant play on pc and i didn't do anything with it expect play factorio or write short essays... so i just figured id optimize my os for it (tried a lot of things but just got into trouble with arch and minimal debian+i3)... other than that it works perfectly on fedora and nobara and kali... all of this because i didnt want my laptop to overheat and make any sound when im playing in class...

Since I'm not getting more of the same reports for broken audio on windows and this thread is getting quite stale, I'm moving this to resolved.
Let's make new threads for any new issues on the current version.
