Small version changes shouldn't break mods. :) Appears we're up with a mod change.

Edit: Correction, server is on 12.23

Ok after some dick fiddling we should now be running 12.23. Please make sure everything is as it should be and have fun.

I didn't change any mods just updated. Idk why the auto updater wouldn't be working but I had to download the update using firefox browser on my phone because google chrome wouldn't download it.

No mods changed. I enabled experimental updates and 12.23 downloaded fine when I went to About Game.

odd... I have experimental enabled as well...

...perhaps a reload of the game, if it only checks once and remembers.

shame we can't write reviews on steam yet (I tried already :) )

(edit: restarting did the trick, update downloading)

Uhhh magic? The idea is ip ban. Not a permanent solution for those determined but it'll work for now.

EDIT: Once I get home I'll have a admin panel ready. A few of the regular trusted players will be given access to it.

4. Don't waste resources just because. If you're building a entire storage chest of useless garbage we will find you, and we will kill you.
The Pave-The-Planet types might fall into this category... and less of an issue on a server with scrapping/recycling mods in it...

I could see someone making a large warehouse, filling it up, and then destroying it over and over to waste resources, but that would probably count as griefing, perhaps...

I assume that if nobody complains (officially, that is), then no problem...
5. Don't hap hazardly destroy someone's work because "I can do it better" if possible ask who built it and show them how it can be improved.
Pretty much, mention in chat what you are about to work on, to give other players an opportunity to object, in case it'll affect something else they're doing. Just common courtesy there, and if everyone does it, then we all have an idea what is going on.

Oh, and maybe add:

10: You are not in charge. The only one in charge is NoPantsMcDance, who runs the server. Bossing the other players around as if you are playing single-player and the other players are there to do what you tell them to, is a very good way to find yourself alienated by the regulars who were there before you were.

OMG get over it.. it's a factory it make sense to put concrete on the ground especially since it give a huge speed bonus for free.. and I wasn't paving the planet, I paved the factory and started building .. moat around it.

Also concrete is super cheap since it's not adjusted for our marathon mods and stone was super abundant. I left the game for a few hours after and came back and you already launched 25 rockets so that was clearly not a huge waste.

And for your future complain on my paving style I would refer you to rule number 6.
6. Every player builds differently. Get used to it.

I don't see any problem with concreting the base since it increases walking speed. I think it's a courtesy to do it in sections, so that bots aren't tied up for long periods of time, and of course not do it when resources are low.
I would imagine the rule about wasting resources applies to production of large quantities of items that no utility can be gained from. It's not fair for person A to set spend time pushing back biters, setting up an outpost, rail, etc, and pulling back resources, only to find that those resources are being used by person B to make 10000 pickaxes and burner mining drills.

BTW, Rseding fixed the Equalizer Chest mod for multiplayer:

viewtopic.php?f=94&t=6537&start=40#p127636

If we ever decide to start using that again. Although I found Warehouses to be a great help for train loading/unloading and some other purposes.

That was the removal of the pack, since it is now included with the main game... to prevent us from getting duplicates.

I had the same reaction as you and actually made a bug report: [0.12.23] False automatic update for scenario pack listed
Turns out they made a new update for the scenario pack that actually deletes it from the game, as it is already included in 0.12.23 and might show up twice sometimes. However, deciding to name it 999.999.999 was a little bit too suspicious for me.

So I've been thinking with steam coming up griefing could become an issue. So I want thoughts on this. Should I start another server that uses a whitelist type system. This will be the easiest and most sufficient way to stop griefing before it starts. This does unfortunately have significant downsides. The way to do a whitelist currently is to use the firewall on the server. This will involve using your ip address. If you don't have a static ip I will most likely not be able to whitelist you. I'm not very interested in letting your entire isp's ip range thru my firewall.

The vanilla server will continue to be open to all. So thoughts?
