So what could be the issue for my problem? I played here 1 day ago. But if try to join now i get the multiplayer loading bar but it doesn't show any progress. Beside that my RAM instantly runs to the maximum which makes task manager of windows nearly unaccesible and it takes a long time to quit Factorio. Please help
PS i'm able to join other server (even with the same mods) just as normal

I don't know what the cause is, but Factorio uses a lot more RAM than usual.
Until now the server always used less than 1 GB, mostly it was around ~700 MB.
Yesterday the server crashed 3 times, so I observed the server and saw it went up to 2 GB, then crashed.
The server was only assigned 2 GB, so I restarted it with 8 GB RAM. Immediately after starting it the RAM usage went to 1.9 GB, now 10 hours later it's at 2.3 GB.
When I connect with my client It starts with 700 MB RAM, then at the multiplayer loading bar it goes up to 3 GB. So I guess you are using the 32-bit version (which has a 2GB limit) or your RAM is not enough.
I'll test some more today and see what I can do, maybe file a bug report.
I also tried without FARL, still uses that much RAM.

I upgraded to Windows 10 (less Ressources reserved -> more availible) and i was able to join and to download the game.
Now I tested in Singleplayer and i have the feeling that rso causes the lag (disabled it). Maybe it has to do something with the different settings on ore frequenzy (etc.) than we had in the map before this one.

Started a new map due to memory issues, server took 4GB of RAM, clients took 4.5GB of RAM.
The current playthrough is Dytech + RSO + FARL. Goal is to launch a satellite.
EDIT: restarted the server right now after a crash due to Dytech's GUI not being fully multplayer compatible.
Reported the issue on Github. Don't use the Dytech GUI on the left top for now.

The server crashed while I was using FARL. It said it can't start to lay a rail within a curve :/

Thats a normal behavior assuming you actually were on a curve. But it shouldn't crash the server I guess.

This was the entry in the server log for the crash:
Code: Select all
Error Util.cpp:46: Error while running the event handler: __FARL__/FARL.lua:1846: Position is nil

epic, thanks for the dedicated server!
I just built a new copper mine, some module factory and a new train station for unloading copper (and sorting it).
Does anyone have an idea how to efficiently sort incoming items? The train is being reused right now for iron and copper, so iron might always appear when the train later on unloads copper...
I know the easy way would be to have 2 trains. But I would love some filter belt instead of having 7 smart inserters...

Hi, daneil.
IT lookd like the savegame was broken as we had the desync issue.
