Only 3 days to go? Meh... I don't know if I am ready for it just yet. I would not mind another 2 months of FFFs. ^^

Currently I am in that weird mood where you are at the end of a journey and you don't want for it to end just yet.

For the love of all that is good, please implement motion blur. The graphics are beautiful, but the motion in the trailer hurts my eyes so much.

That Jetpack feels really powerful without the need of fuel or at least energy from its grid. :/

Cargo pods should do a front-flip for landing, because that's actually the fastest way to slow down and change trajectory optimally (trust me I played Kerbal Space Program)

I'm curious to know how this will work with achievements, as they are usually disabled with mods.
Should be different for 2.0. Since some achies are clearly for Space Age, like reach another planet.
I think user made mods will differ from dev's made mods.

One counts any valid kill anytime. Another invalidates if first valid kill ever was made by using other weaponry (and, overall, damage sources).

Cheers!

The only difference was a 20% larger equipment grid over Power armor Mk2, but along with quality this felt well above adequate already.
This concerns me. Alongside other changes it makes the earlier statements about quality even harder to believe.
It's also worth noting that while it's a lot of fun to play with quality, using it is completely optional. The expansion is balanced in a way that using quality can be beneficial, but it is reasonable to finish the game without touching quality at all.
This stops being true when combat equipment, and therefore enemies, are being balanced around quality. If it had to be added it should never have applied to equipment.
The quote says that the power armor is **well above adequate**, meaning quality makes it slightly or really OP. Which lines up well with the other quote that it is reasonable to finish the game without touching quality at all.

Yes, if you buy Factorio: Space Age on our website, you will be able to redeem a Steam key from the profile page, same as with the base game.

And when will be the game available?
is it 21st after midnight, or 21st during the day like FFF?
At the end, it doesnt matter :)

I hate it too  but can understand. Releasing on Friday is the usual meme of any software house. If there's anything broken no one wants to come in on weekend to fix it.

I quoted it word for word right there. You can't just rewrite it to pretend it says something that it doesn't. It says in plain language "with quality this feels above adequate," and is a plain admission of balancing the armor around quality despite the promise not to balance the game around the controversial, and supposedly optional, mod.

If quality needed to be in the game, they needed to separately balance the game with the mod enabled or design and balance everything around the mod being disabled. Unfortunately they've decided to balance the base game around the quality "mod," which is what many of us who didn't want to engage with quality were worried about after it was announced and why there was.

"Finishing the game" isn't the operative point, it's that the mod isn't optional when the game is balanced around it. There are many sets of challenges under which it is "reasonable to finish the game," avoiding quality wasn't supposed to be a handicap.

From what i got from reading that, it was more a case of "we balanced it around no quality, having it WITH quality is overkill, and theres no kill like overkill."

Huh? I repeated exactly part of your quote "well above adequate". Or here as a longer quote "but along with quality this felt well above adequate already".

Now I don't know what you read into that sentence, but adequate means according to wiktionary "Equal to or fulfilling some requirement", the requirement here probably that it is good enough to win the game. Collins says "If something is adequate, there is enough of it or it is good enough to be used or accepted. "

And "above adequate" then means more than is necessary to win the game, in effect not in balance, equal to or fullfilling the requirement anymore but stronger.

I am pretty sure this is what the developers wanted to say. Now please enlighten us how you read that sentence, maybe I am wrong here. My guess is you have a different definition or interpretation of "adequate", but is your definition lining up with what a dictionary would say?

Good luck tomorrow, Wube. Would be interesting to hear if the release is a scheduled task, and fully automated, the office closed, and you all gathered at some vacation resort, relaxing in some pool tomorrow at 1100UTC.
