headless server won't start post update

Post by Wismerhill »

Hi people,

First let me paise the devs for this wonderfull job they are doing ... :o :D

Now, back to the problem at hand.

i was running a server on 0.14.22 for a while and i tryed to update it to 0.16.x (i think it was 0.16.28).

since not being familiar to the process i tryed to do the same as on my PC local version (download the wanted version and overwrite the existing one) but it didn't work.

the factorio current log still displays the old version number and the server goes into failed mode.

hereafter comes the log ...

playground.tmp.zip in your save is most likely corrupted save created by crash during previous saving, it's the newest file in the saves folder, so server with "--start-server-load-latest" tries to load it and fails. Delete it and try again.

hi,
thank you for you reply,

the saves folder has been completely emptyed except for the file containing the new map (generated for the server) prior to the last test (to wich the log applies)

by the way, i start the server with "service factorio start"
