So you die when a rocket lands on you, like when you visit a planet first, it might happen that some cargo lands on you when you dont move after landing, which results in a death.

Suggestion:
- the rocket does a SMALL trust tryin to not hit the player and because of this it crashes nearby which results in losing some items

Why:

I think it would suit better to game like factorio, which usually dont kills you without doing something stupid. Also its like a small insider like the rocket on the webpage.

I died recently exactly because of this. Landed on Fulguro - got killed by my supplies.
No big deal. You respawn exactly where you died 10 seconds later.
Loosing my cargo would have been very bad...

Suggestion. The spot where a pod lands should be marked with an red X.
Gives the player time to react and get out of harms way.

The POINT is that you dont KNOW and you cant STOP IT from happening, its automatic.

You mean if you accidently without ANY way to prevent it get killed by the rocket, hows that fun?

Would it be cooler if the rocket tries to prevent it...?

Yeah, showing where they land would be one way to fix this.

But really, would it hurt you if you loose some % of the cargo inside that specific rocket (were talking about like one stack) - maybe 10% or so

I died to this too and it was hilarious.
But the important part is that Factorio does not punish you by destroying your items unless you specifically "deserve" it. Yes, you can get killed by cargo pods or - more commonly - trains, but its at most an inconvenience, because there is no benefit in punishing you for it.

Where as there is a benefit in losing things to biter/pentapod attacks, because those are part of the gameplay loop and you are supposed to sufficiently defend your factory from them.

There is no benefit in losing items due to freak accidents.

You dont like the loose item part. Thats one part of the suggestion. Or you dont like EVERYTHING and the unforseen death is a good way to handle it.

I don't like everything.

You should just build a landing pad to avoid death by rocket landing on you, if you don't have a landing pad, just look out when you manually drop things onto the planet. It's very much on the player fault, if it happens more than one time. And it is caused by a player action so quite easy to avoid.

I think death is a fun way to show player the incentive, because it's not punishing, since you respawn close to where cargo pod lands by default, it would be worse to missing items.

you dont understand than this happens the first time you visit a planet, where you cant have build a landing pad? How to look out? You cant avoid it, its just random. First time i visited vulcanus everything was ok. Gleba also. But on Fulgora i got killed with out doing anything. I just send some stuff down and got randomly hit. I didnt even moved. And if it happens for me one in 4 times...

i understand it is not automatic, and to avoid it you only have to move after landing your character, very easy

Nope! I like the idea of people getting crushed because they don't move out of the way for a cargo pod they send down, and similar. Peak comedy to me, you respawn where you die too so little consequence. I'd advocate for this to be a feature if a pod landed on top of me and i DIDNT die.

I recall reading a bug report where if two players drop simultaneously on to a planet, one of then will kill the other.
That should probably be fixed, but otherwise this feature is cool. Although it's never happened to me as I'm usually not standing near the map origin.

Yeah I got crushed by my friend who dropped down with me. Not cool.

Contrary feedback just comes with the act of a suggesting something on such a highly beloved game where most players are likely to have strong opinions. But i see only respectful discussion in this topic (and most other places in this forum), whether it is for or against your suggestion(s).

I was not killed the first time I was hit by a cargo pod, just lost a bit of my health. This happens, if things from space are falling on your head unprepared.
The landing cargo pod does 600 physical damage, so make sure you have proper health, armor, shields. It's the same as with not getting hit by a train: watch your step or be a golem.

You're able to survive with Power Armor MK2+150 shield hit points.

Counter Suggestion: Add an Achievement for this!

I laughed a lot the first time I crushed myself with a Cargo Pod.
