Gate does not open when train is built over it and takes off

The scenario is as follows: you have rails with gates on them, you put a train locomotive down a bit after the gates, now you put carts on the rails behind the train, where they carts cross over the gate boundary. Now when you try to drive off in the train the gates don't open.
