Lamp color is limited by the circuit signals. So this mod cannot be applied on lamps.

I think I'm doing something wrong. I've installed Color Picker and the locomotive/wagon/train stop/player mods, but I don't get the new color GUI anywhere. I'm on Factorio 0.15.12, Color Picker 0.3.0, and the lateest versions of the other mods. All of them are toggled on. Is there something else I need to do to find/activate/use the Color Picker interface?

Hi,

Color Picker is only the core mod. You need to install one of these https://mods.factorio.com/?q=Color+picker additional mods for what you want to recolor.

Don't know what's happening there...
Do you see the small rectangular button with the icon of player on the top bar of your screen? It is from the Player Color mod and should be always visible. Click it to open the color picker UI.

For the other mods, you will have to open a locomotive, cargo wagon or train station. Then, a button will appear on the left of your screen. Click it to open the UI.
If it still doesn't work.... please tell me your mod list.

Aaah, there it is. I was looking for a toggle switch or something in the locomotive pop-up, and didn't see the little icon in the upper left.

Unless I missed it (which is possible), the mod description isn't terribly clear about that--maybe you could update it? In any case, though, thanks for the help, and the great mod!

Sure! I will update the descriptions when I update them. I'm planning to make new features (e.g. customizable color presets). But don't know when I will have time to do so. :P

In case you were not aware, Color Picker in .15.27 now throws an error on Line 45 of control.lua related to new changes on 15.27 remote calls

Yes, it is addressed in Color Picker - Locomotive.
Color Picker itself doesn't have problem, but the mods that use its function doesn't work for now.

Here is the announcement of the big update of Color Picker!
Version 0.4.0
The color picker sub-mods have been combined into this single mod.
The alpha channel is supported (it was a mistake to not support it before).
You can now save color presets! (A reference to Unity's color picker)

Edit: This will be in the next version:

When loading my current game which had the original sub-mods (player color, etc.), the color picker button does not appear in the toolbar. It does show up when starting a new game or when loading a game which did not originally have any of the color picker mods loaded. (Might be a migration problem?)

Thanks for the report. This will take me some time to verify because I need to downgrade Factorio.
For a quick fix, I think you can first delete Color Picker and all sub-mods, then load the game and save. Next, install Color Picker and load the game again. This way, Color Picker should be treated as a new mod in that game.
Edit: found the cause. The above quick fix won't work. It will be fixed in v0.4.3.

I made the mod settings in "Map", because I thought it would be a good idea to let the server admins to control the accessibility of color pickers.
But I soon realized Factorio's permission system has already provided such ability. That's why this update exists. :)

Also, because there are quite a number of reports about errors caused by the old Color Picker sub-mods, starting from this version, you will be notified to delete them if any is detected.

The game crashes when using your mod with the Railway Painter mod. Your mod works fine when using it other ways, but when clicking on "New" in Railway Painter and clicking on any of the buttons in the Color Picker window the game crashes. I am posting this in both places as I don't know which one is causing the crash. The error message is below:

Error while running event color-picker::on_gui_click (ID 1)
Can't copy object of type function

Hi folks,

is an update for factorio 0.16 planed for color picker?
Would love to be able to use it again, but unfortunately I seem not to be able to get it working on my own...

[MOD 0.15+] Color Picker 16 0.4.9 GUI crash

Whilst trying to assign a colour (purple) to the list with ALT+click the game crashed with the following error.......

PS I've now fixed this - the button style name had been changed in the vanilla core files :)

Just installed Color Picker on our server - one of the players was getting this error.

But the rest of us weren't.

We found the workaround.......

Open up your Graphics Option settings and Uncheck Low Quality Sprite Rotation
Now restart Factorio
