Help on Construction Drones

I have been trying to make use of https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Updated_C ... ion_Drones.
I get the 10 construction drones in my inventory. Now what? I can't deploy them on the ground and they don't exit my inventory when there is a blue print.
I have tried Tiny Start in addition, and the flying bots are working, and they do their job correctly, so what gives? Is Updated Construction Drones broken? But none of the 15 messages in the mod author subforum mention anything...
