36 Research labs, two transport belt lanes (0.15)

Post by Gergely »

I have invented this late game solution to supply all 7 science packs to labs using a transport belt loop. The circuit network configuration limits each science pack's dispension so it won't fill up the belt taking space from the other science packs. It is campable to supply 36 labs without modules assuming full input. The only flaw is (as you can see in the following picture) that science packs are not distributed that evenly, so you have to reroute the express belt output back into the machine to create a loop. If any excess science packs get back into the machine, they block their own dispension, so there's more room for other science packs. Space science packs come in on both lanes because there is not enough room left for them on a single lane. Enjoy!

Also note that you can start building this very early game without circuit network, (and with only yellow belt) because you don't have to manage more than one kind of science pack per lane.

You can fit a full 4 science packs in a single lane, if you only merge from downstream side of the belt.

Wait WHAT??? :o There already WAS an idea like this?!
Merging from downstream side is not the best idea. (That was my conclusion after trying it Sorry if it's not accurate) Especially when having science pack types that are unused.
