Episode 10 is now up.

I run into some problems with my factory layout. Quite a few issues to solve. Mostly because of my initial spawn (being nearly ontop of a small lake) my factory has kinda grown around it, making routing resources interesting So a fun episode in all.

Pretty good. I just steamed through all 10 videos and have to say I quite enjoyed it.

Thanks. I have two more episodes to go up in the next two days. There are quite a few problems that I had to work through to get everything working in an ok manner. At the start of the next episode I start to lose the will to live when I really start realizing how much I have to straighten out .

Just a short one due to computer malfunction. I work at shoring up a few issues across the factory.

I've uploaded 16 - 18 this morning. I've ton them as one lump because the audio mucked up on me and there is no commentary.

The great news is, the fun really starts in episode 19 (to come tomorrow) and by episode 20 (the day after tomorrow) I am in some really big strife! I'll post both episodes when they go up.

I work on some defenses, automating laser production and upgrading parts of my factory to work with the robotics network.

Oh, and I don't die in this one, #winning

Midway through episode 19 was quite amusing (for me). I lost it when you tried to kill some biters with your shotgun and was inadvertently hitting your steam engines.

I was really caught by surprise there and really wasn't prepared to fight off two dozen biters from within my own base

In this episode I suffer a complete power failure in my base as a result of a negative feedback loop involving my electric miners .

Episode 22

In this episode I endeavour to fix the catastrophic power failure and get everything working again!

If you have hints or tips or any suggestions, don't hesitate to post. Would love to hear what you think and I promise to implement your suggestion if I think its a good idea

Episode 23 is up

After the catastrophic power failure, i managed to get things slightly back on track and decide its time to secure my factory's power with solar!

Here's how I like to set up my boilers:



When you first set it up, you have to do it slowly by limiting one stack per box, otherwise only the first 4ish boilers will get coal. Once you get a stack, you can open up the chests to 10 stacks or so, then keep increasing until full.

If you notice your fuel belt is empty while running around your base doing other stuff, you'll have plenty time to react.

Buffer storage. Nice

I've managed to fix the power problem in the coming episodes, basically i've gone over to solar with plenty of accumulators.

Yeah, I saw that. It's still not a bad idea to have the buffer though.

Its a great idea to have a buffer. I've been trying to implement that kind of idea into more of my designs moving forward. That is, if there is a fluctuation in supply production is unaffected and the system can kind of balance itself out.
