3 Tile High Science-2 Assembly Line

Post by AssaultRaven »

Inspired by the 3 tile high science 1 assembly line shown here, I tried to make a 3 tile high science 2 assembly line. This is the result:

Edit: Right click and View Image for full.

Science assemblers continue to the left for a total of 8.

As you can see, iron is the limiting factor shown here, but this was corrected. Alas, the design itself has a bug, as I found out after I resolved the iron shortage, which is that it takes 2 fast inserters grabbing copper wire to meet the full demand of an Assembler 2 making circuit cards, so that is the bottleneck. I'm still seeing if I can salvage the design while correcting that, but in any case, this is still enough for 6-7 Assembler 2's.

Couldn't you move the copper cable assembler right next to circuit one and lift cabels directly from it instead of using belts? With any level of inserter stack bonus it should be capable of providing enough cables to not bottleneck the line.

Yes, that did end up working out. It even made it a little shorter!
