Oil flow

Post by Dakkanor »

was experimenting with my refineries, i liked this setup the best and thought I'd share

if you have space this can easily be spread out a fair bit as in pic 2

but i'm less fond of that, i prefer to just build t in a block and if i need more i'll just add more refineries going down

edit: image link hates me :P

Ha, that's exactly what I meant, when I suggested straight upper ground pipes... Because otherwise you built a "block" where nothing can go thru.
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

Or lay pipes generally half in ground so that they are walkable like conveyour belts, and you alway see your character and the pipes as well. underground belt would be uses to cross these "normal" pipes just like underground belts do. High pipes would need supporting pillars where you would still be stuck with your charakter or car.

second picture has an error :P

the left refinery is wrongly connected with its pipes :P (only the top and bottom pipe)

but a nice setup

My setup is quite similar. I also added a nice cracking setup (:

If you abuse pipe-to-ground more you can make it even more compact:

i like this, my biggest gripe with the oil industry is how big it gets, i used to have all my resources built on a conveyor, but with oil its either awkwardly pump it to the right spot or bring all the resources to it.....

i dislike both for various reasons

Here is the finished form of said refinery - i believe it is impossible to make it more compact.

this is what i had been using before, but i decided i liked how mine was kinda boxed in by having the water pump outside.
also i liked having all the output available in one spot
