My Belt balancers

As some of you might know within factorio is an artform of splitter creations that can evenly divide multiple belts, Balancers!

I'm no mathematician so there wont be any math involved here, smarter people than me can explain how this stuff works, I just want to show my creations.

I'm going to be including a link to the balancer as well as a blueprint string
The last entry is my flagship 16-lane balancer, You can also click here for a picture.

Looks great! I just need to up my production to the point where I actually use four belts for a single thing now :)

If you're using 3 belts you can always loop one output back to the input, but whatever you do, NEVER block an OUTPUT, this breaks balancers.

Is it possible to just using 2 belts instead of three, then what could be the outcome on these experiment?

A two belt main bus is trivially balanced with a single splitter.

Powers of 2 are the easiest to do. 36 is not one of those, but 32 is. I have a 32 in the linked thread in my signature if you want to use that, but getting a 36 to work... I'd have to think about that. I've done a 64 so it's possible to just run 28 belts with a loop back to the beginning, but there is definitely a better way to do it that involves fewer belts.

If, in addition to the current splitters that do 2 belts there were splitters that did 3 belts then a 36 would be easy to do. Instead, it takes 4 splitters to get 3 to 3 so it's not so easy.

4 belts for a single thing ? wooo.
As a beginner, I need to see such maps to motivate myself :-)

If some one can post such a map, I'd love to see them running.

To balance one type of items, i'm using this:
4x4 balancer
It split equally not only belts but also belts sides.

waoo, nice game. Useful for a beginner like me.
Just on this game, I installed the same mods as yours, but the solar panels does not seem to provide electricity on the network : accumulators goes empty quickly and even if the solar panel shows 6MW per unit, there is no electricity send on the network which goes down quickly...

It's an old savegame, I have no idea whether you can make it work. It's probably fixable somehow (there is an error in one of the mods or so) but probably not worth it. Just learn from the setup :)
