I'm building an inserter in real life

I've got computer controlled movement on 5 axies now, and enough lifting power to pull the robot off the table. Maybe it could drag itself from place to place?

I want to say thank you to Factorio for the experience. I recently designed my first PCB and for every wire on the board all I saw was conveyor belts; every chip a factory. Factorio was great practice in following the Ghostbusters rule (don't cross the streams).

Next up is inverse kinematics, then 3d software so average joes can train the arm.

This is pretty epic. :D Would love to see a video of it in action once you have it completed and working! :)

@xterminator - I'll do that for sure. I want to show it doing something useful.

Can we also see it picking up a steel/copper plate? A fake steel/copper plate would be really fine.
Because i think that was the easiest one to make IRL. Just a square shape with grey/pink color.
This is too awesome.

I was going to try to open and pour a beer. I could do a metal plate.

I'm a lot closer now. The beer is still on the way.

I have the new recipe: the brain is actually one blue PCB, one purple PCB, three white, and two green. Soon I should have all the electronics off the table, safely stored on the back of the arm.

A friend is currently making a 3D printable model of a bottle opener which the robot can hold.

Edit: Making a bottle opener tool

How's this? https://instagram.com/p/7tjjpAofC_/

I don't have a soft suction cup to grab a flat sheet (yet), but I do have a suction nozzle and air pump.

Opening a beer is on the way still. Rotating the wrist around an arbitrary point in space is hard to explain to a machine.
