"Distance"?

Replaces resource spawning system, so that the distances between resources are much bigger. Railway is needed then.

Am I right — judging from my map "experiment" (I'm close to redoing) of leaving all ore settings at default, and RSO's default save for Region size upped to 50 (yup, I'm crazy :D) and Resource chance upped to .7 — that "distance" means "distance in regions"? I get a copper patch of 672k about 100 chunks out from origin…

You made me check but you are correct.
Distance for richness calculation is in regions.

If you go with huge regions then I would recommend increasing both richness and distance exponents. Exponents go only up to 3 currently - might not be enough. Region size 50 is not really... supported ;)
I would also recommend making multiplier for starting area higher and resource chance at 1 - if you are unlucky and water eats a resource patch with scale like this you'll have a lot more travelling.
