How to reduce forest generation?

To me for a long time very much bothered to fell trees on start of a game to expand base
Option to disable tree generation in config.lua not works, does not work at all - no changes on map

Here's my mods

A vehicle researched from the car that lets you cut and gather trees. Its MUCH faster than trying to manually harvest. The vehicle itself drives and maneuvers like a tank; when in the vehicle there's a button that has a glitched-but-working button to start bulldozing; when active, it will harvest anything in front of it (trees, boulders, buildings, etc.) and place it in the bulldozer's inventory, allowing you to mow down forests that are in your way, and at the same time saves the wood if you like it for some purpose (with Bob's mods, for instance, wood is a component for boards for electronics); you can also the wood to fuel the bulldozer itself (kinda great when what you want to get rid of fuels the vehicle you use to get rid of it!).

Option to remove trees is meant for those that would cover ore fields. It won't remove any other trees.
There is no option to clean all the trees atm.

But i want to find some method to reduce count of trees on map - it is remembered in the early version there was an option for intensity of a generation of trees

I don't recall any options about trees in RSO. It removes trees now to make sure that there is a space for biter spawners/turrets if it rolls them in the forest. And if you enable the option it will clean ore patch area from trees.
Since trees use autoplace modifying their layout should be moddable - but it might be a task for separate mod.

I use Fewer Trees. Just set the value of reduction you want for trees, also for rocks, at generation.
