a clock for the network(for timeswitches)and electric sensor

Ideas that are too old (too many things have changed since) and ones which won't be implemented for certain reasons or if there are obviously better suggestions.

a clock for the network(for timeswitches)and electric sensor

Post by Jesus8000 »

a clock for the network(for timeswitches) >> to switch on a powerplantarea at night. or maybe all 2 minutes...

***// or/and electric sensor that messure the power at grid as condition for (andything) specially to activate a powerplant if the power is too low.

(i specially have a really big part in my factory with 3000 electric furnace only on solar energy....at the moment i have to build a really complex combinator clock to keep that running only at daytime)

a condition connectet to the power in the factory would be helpful in many situations in my opinion

h//***

>>>>>edit: i have 300h in factorio and i didnt try to connect the accum. to a network-.-

but a sensor would be cool atleast^^if u dont know what to implement

Use the accumulator as a sensor of power grid status- if your current generation capacity is not keeping up, it will start to discharge. A little hysteresis arrangement to keep the switch from bouncing obnoxiously, and it is more or less trivial to automate things like emergency steam power.
In my mind, Steam is the eternal king of the railway.

show me a pic of ur automated steam emerge power. that only turns on when power and accumulater empty or low
btw i want to activate the nuclear reactors if the accumulators are 3/4 empty

etit: :D i never tryed to connect acc to the network^^ it already works .... thx for the tipp

I built a simple circuit to detect if the accumulators were increasing in power or decreasing. If they are increasing it means dawn, decreasing means dusk. I use it for daytime-only radars but it could work for daytime-only furnaces. Might fit your purpose:

Switch off radar when accumulators are decreasing

i got it much more ezer.
only one accum. on your main grid + 1 green cable + and the condition A< 50 turn on .... the arm or the reactor(A is the symbos the accum. is sending the hole time (A100 = full))
thats it

I don't see currently any urgent use-case for such a combinator. And game-play-value is rather low. Moved to not implement. :)
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.
