Not corruput in can't be read, corrupt as in looks weird. File is attached. Is the case with the Steam version, maybe also with other versions. See also:

That suddenly started happening to me too

I can confirm this is the case - I opened Steam, Factorio updated, I saw this topic, and after checking the file is wrong even before opening the game. I'm using Steam on Windows 7.

can confirm that on windows 10:

0.15.38 (build 30936, win64, steam) with sprite resolution on high is broken, sprite resolution on normal is ok.

on 0.15.37 (build 30927, win64, steam) the mining drill is ok on both sprite resolution settings.

I was stupid

Edit: Put this in (Steam\SteamApps\common\Factorio)\data\base\graphics\entity\burner-mining-drill and replace the file there. This version is basically the first two lines of the HD version looped four times to fill the sprite sheet.

I'm working on a fixed version of the file, it's hard because MS paint doesn't save transparency .

Here's an initial version - it works, but the animation slides around a few pixels per second. An improved version should be coming soon.

Hey guys, thanks for the report.
It seems our deploy server has bad memory stick and it corrupted one of the files, as soon as we fix the server we'll run release again.

@Jap: you can just downgrade to the latest stable release and take the file from there

This same sort of bug has been happening to my cargo wagons for a while.

This is the sprite sheet for cargo-wagon-1.png. It has been like this through several updates.

That this bug has existed for me at least since I uploaded this video last year. You can see every time a cargo wagon rounds a corner the sprites get all funky.
