[0.15.35] Freeze after connecting to server.

Place for things which are bugs but we have no idea how to solve them. Things related to hardware, libraries, strange setups, etc.

[0.15.35] Freeze after connecting to server.

Post by ZereoX »

Found:
After connecting to my server hosted on my Network-attached storage, I opened the minimap, dismissed the Speed Module 3 I was holding then hit the Super key to open my activities (Gnome 3 - Workspace / Window Management), launch my browser and hit Super key again to re-select Factorio. Upon returning to Factorio, the game had frozen and the process was unresponsive. Process had to be terminated to close it.

Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Launch Steam.
  2. Select "Play" Factorio.
  3. Select Play -> Multiplayer -> Connect to Server (see "_autosave4.zip" & "mp-download.zip" for save file).
  4. Open the minimap ("M" - Default Shortcut).
  5. While the minimap is open, dismiss the Speed Module 3 being held ("Q" - Default Shortcut).
Reproduction Rate:
Could not reproduce.

Expected Results:
Game client continues to tick and remains responsive while in and out of focus.

Notes:
- Server did not crash.
- My friend is still able to connect and so was I afterwards.

Thank you for very detailed bug report.
Unfortunatelly, the stack trace in log isn't very useful - it looks like the crash originated outside of Factorio code, my guess is at graphics driver. Since you can't reproduce it, I think we won't be able to do anything about this.
