[0.15.33] Severe ups dorp when destroying biter bases

Hello,
I am experiencing severe fps/ups drop when destroying biters en masse with atomic bombs.
The same ups dorp occours while blowing up larger forests.
Smaller clusters generate less of a drop, but in my case I generated a map with several screen large clusters.

My factory is already at a size, that my computer can't run the game at 60ups, but it happens with a smaller factory too.

The progress of the issue:
1. Firing atomic bomb, no problems
2. Initial explosion, no problems
3. The explosion is spreading, slight ups drop
4. The explosion is at its fullest, noticable ups drop
5. After the explosion is gone, and the destroying, dying animations are progressing, severe ups drop
6. As the animations are done, after several seconds, ups slowly climbs up to normal

As far as I can tell, the ups dorp might be caused by the little particles generated by the spawners, worms and trees.
Are there any options to disable these?
Also, I am not using any kind of mods.

are you using integrated graphics? if so you could try a custom 4:3 screen aspect ratio like 1440x1080 to ease it's burden.
i do this for my toaster (HD 3000) graphics. or use windowed mode, and make the window narrower.

It was not a bad guess, as I have a unusual setup, with the main screen with Factorio running is connected to my GTX 660 videocard, and my second screen is running on the integrated graphics.
I plugged out my second monitor that was connected to the integrated graphics, the Windows messed up my desktop as expected, restarted Factorio, and the same fps/ups drop still occours.
Supposedly now only my videocard is working on displaying anything.
I have to say, that i noticed a slight ups increase (~4), but it might be simply because I restarted the game freshly, and will settle down to its usual level.

It isn't really a bug report, more of an optimisation request.

I wonder if you could help this a ton simply by not playing the death anims for nukes? Realistically, a nuke would obliterate biters in an instant.

This is a know issue... feature I'm not sure how to name it. Its the blood animation that causes it.
If your willing to use mods look up the below one it turns off the blood particles and gets rid of the UPS drop when nuking bases.

i smell an option for blood in vanilla graphic settings coming.

the nukes are so beautiful the way the destruction ripples out.
i'll take that over realism.

Thank you for your replies, I think I'll settle with the Alien death fps fix mod, it solves the issue nicely.
Also the problem still persist with the destruction of large forests, as the falling leaves and twigs appear very much like the blood, but it is nowhere near as much of an issue.
