Set custom alerts

So, I did find something vaguely similar at https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... 6&t=1238ap, but slightly different. Let's say for a chest (of any kind, or maybe just smart chest) could be set to alert if there is too little of X resource in it. For example, I like to buffer fuel through a chest for my boilers to give me a chance to build up a good surplus when I have plenty coming in, and when it starts to tail off, I have sufficient time to add more incoming fuel before I start to lose power. However, I have to keep checking the chest(s). If I could have an alert come up, I'd know when it gets below a certain level which means I better add more fuel! Or have a special belt counter, and if too few of an item is passing through the belt at that section it'd alert me.

The devs said, that the circuit system will have something like that. It's in the roadmap for v0.12. :)

For the belt counter I found these topics:

https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... f=6&t=1596

Ah, well, I guess I haven't been following the forum enough (or long enough) to see that bit. And it's not on the 0.12 Roadmap thread. At least, not at the top. And the belt counter would be tied into the alerts system, although it may have been mentioned buried deep in one of those threads you referenced. I didn't see any talk about alerting system near the beginning of any of them.

But yes, it's good to hear the devs have said something about some kind of custom alerts system.
