Hello all,

I've made two video tutorials for the mod, see first post. I hope they will help those feeling a bit beleaguered. ;)

Thanks. Your videos are a lot better than nothing (I've asked th mod spotlighters several times to do a spotlight of your mod), but I wish you'd have spent just a couple more minutes describing the way the fluids move around, like including a flowchart in the videos. Having watched it once, I'm still not 100% confident that I understand exactly how to set up a fission power plant.

The earlier part, in the 1st video, was fine, though. Or at least the enrich/recycle part is simple enough to make intuitive sense.

Hello,

Are you referring to the second part? It is too fast? Which part don't you find easy enough to understand? What sort of fluid flowchart are you asking for? Enrichment flowchart? Heat flowchart?

Yes, the second part.

Enrichment is easy to understand, it's the flow of water in the 2nd video, between the various sub-components of the Reactor and the other machines. Your explanation was rushed there; you weren't really actively trying to teach the flow.

I'm in the processing of recording another video to explain the liquid a bit better. As for flow chart, I don't know how to incorporate that into a video without a video editing software, which I don't have. I suppose I'll update the images in the first post to reflect the new version. I can include a fluid flow chart for a typical build there.

I think you can just point with the mouse. Hover the mouse over a particular sub-component for 2 seconds and say "the water flow starts here, and the water is cold/hot/superhot", then hover over the next sub-component for 2 seconds and go "then it flows to here, where X happens, and then...".

Yes, I know everyone is hankering for fuel decay. :)

I just resumed coding for 0.6.3. Yuoki has agreed to help me with graphics since my graphics helper friend is busy with residency. This hopefully means faster turn around time between subversion and major versions but it all depends on Yuoki's schedule with the graphics. I hope to have 0.6.3 done in a few weeks, so that would put 0.7.0 early September, maybe sooner?

For new players of Uranium Power 0.6.2, or if you start a new game, you will encounter some missing recipes. To solve this problem please see this post.

https://forums.factorio.com/forum/vie ... 29#p102649

This is already fixed for 0.6.3 that I am working on.

What's the ETA on 6.3?

Maybe in two weeks. I'm coding at the moment. Once I'm happy with the new codes I will freeze them and then give the new code base to YuokiTani so he can help make the gfx for the new components. I maydo a pre release with stand-ins where the codes are all working but missing gfx.

So, you know one of those moments where you ask yourself "wtf must I have been thinking?"...Well I just had one when I was checking my Youtube playlist for Uranium Power. Apparently, I had forgotten that one of the video that I had recorded was set to unlisted. That's been fixed. There should be three videos in that playlist now.

I have released an update to fix issues created by the release of Factorio 0.12.11. This release contains many stand-ins for the new version of Uranium Power that I have been working on but is not yet ready for release. The currently release is 0.6.3 and does not yet have features that I plan to add. I will have more time to work on things later this month as currently I have a time sensitive project that I am busy with.

Finally, my friend managed to prove my hunch. What you see is a work around of the sprite sheet size limit. 8-) This method now, hopefully, opens the door for very large explosion or very large sprite sheet.

This is an image that is 4000x4000 pixels => ~16 chunks. You are seeing it at 0.386x zoom factor of the game zoom, i.e. all the way zoomed out.
Yummy

Great to see this. Really excited to see a huge explosion implemented ingame.

So uranium fuel is still not used up? I haven't played this mod for months.

Not yet. I am currently busy with my thesis defense work so I don't yet have time to make improvements. However, improvements will come. :D
