Fix the infinite inventory / crafting hack or at least make it an option

I find it very hard to resist shift click crafting in order to carry infinite amount of resources in my inventory :) If you craft in between these, shift clicks, it's so effective. :)

I don't understand what you are suggesting here.

When inventory is filled, starting a long craft of something "reserves" the needed resources, which seeml to disappear from the inventory, freeing more space to carry more. It is then possible to cancel the crafting to get the reserved resources back and do something else with it.

Imho this hack is dirty indeed, but extremely limited, at least in vanilla. One can't just go around endlessly with long handcrafts used as magic bag of holding, and even if one does, in the end, everything will have been handcrafted so no hack involved here.

It is a magical bag of holding! How is it not? The only limitation is you have to drop down an assembler (plus maybe solar panels) if you want to craft anything, but this isn't as much of a limitation as it seems as I frequently want to assemble many things quickly and will do this anyways regardless of what my queue looks like.

You do want to be somewhat mindful about how you shift-click assemble things so that it's in nice inventory sized chunks and craft different things in between those chunks. Also, crafting things like research is a good idea if you don't want to hand craft too many things.
Even if one does, in the end, everything will have been handcrafted so no hack involved here.
Not sure I understand this quote. Unless you meant the opposite, as I hand craft relatively little with this hack

No matter how many handcrafts are used as "inventory augment" hack, given enough time, they'll end up done, and the "I use handcraft as additional inventory space" will be obsolete.

@Koub

The 'hack' works as handcrafting is suspended if inventory is full.

I would assume you have read about it

:o I guess 2000-ish hours were not enough to discover it by myself :lol: I thought the products were spilled on the ground as they were crafted when inventory is full.

This does not really hurt. You have at least to be a bit creative

It technically works but I'd usually value being able to craft over a bit of extra inventory space.

unless you don't use the inventory sorting and just fill the empty slots with wood.
