Lamp module for modular armor

Night vision exists, but the green really hurts my eyes.

My reasoning is this:

* Lamps exist and run on power
* Modular armor + solar panel/portable fusion reactor produces power
* Put lamp module in armor so you have aura of light around you. Stack them for larger area.

It seems perfectly in line with energy shields and exoskeleton, it would be really nice lategame.

Would be nice for Youtuber's the most as it makes it very hard to see videos of people killing stuff at night or when there are not lamps around. The current night vision is less then desirable.

This is a really nice idea. I wouldn't mind this if someone could mod it.

The 2 devices have a different purpose
Night vission lets you see the whole screen, but it's green (and hurts your eyes)
Lamp creates a circle of light around you (like the lamps already in game) having a limited visual range, but in all directions, unlike the torch.


I like it.

maybe have it so the amount of batteries in your armor (or power source, ie portable solar panels/reactor) decides how much light is produced.. that way it would only be a small radius of light when you first get it (MK1 battery) but for end game (when you have the reactor) the full screen minus the corners (since it's a round circle on square screen) would be lit up.

Actually I'd love to see a Light bot that you throw out there and it explodes in 2 minutes. Would help out a lot as well.

I'm a programmer so I wouldn't mind making a mod if it would help convince the developers that it's a good idea. I'll look into it this weekend.

The idea for a lamp for modular armour is fine, but there is an unanswered problem with night vision being kind of hard on the eyes. Ideally the night vision effect is improved either in the vanilla game or perhaps with a mod?

I feel like night vision should not change the color, instead the screen should wind up about 75% as dark as full night

I love this. Night vision aside this seems like a very logical thing to have on a high tech piece of armour.

Already sugested, search the forums for "Explorer". don't ask why explorer, that was half the debate of the topic about explorer robots.
