Reverting (Refined) Hazard Concrete

Post by tjoener »

TL;DR
Removing the hazard paintjob on hazard concrete or refined hazard concrete, so it can be used for something else

What ?
OK, so this is a pretty easy suggestion, but something I've noticed in my playthroughs of factorio, is that I always end up with boxes of hazard concrete, if I decide to upgrade to refined hazard concrete later. Boxes and boxes full of the stuff.

A simple recipe to "wash" or "grind" off the paint would be pretty welcome :). Could maybe be done in a MK2 assembler with some water input? Or just simply like it's done now to turn concrete into hazard concrete.

I've searched on the forums but couldn't really find any question about it. So I'd thought I'd drop it here.
Why ?
Get rid of those stacks and stacks of leftover hazard (refined) concrete. And it seems like a simple recipe :)

Seems simple enough that I can make a tiny mod out of it, but I'd thought I'd drop it as a suggestion anyways :)

mining.result could just be changed to the non hazard type.

You mean when you pick it back up?

That's also a valid idea, although the paint wouldn't just "disappear", but then again, it wouldn't just "appear" as it does when you craft it in the first place

You mean if you mislaid the hazard concrete you'll need to produce a new batch as you can't just put it back where it belongs? That could cause a lot of confusio and annoyance, especially as this would be the only item which acts this way.

No, refined hazard concrete would also give back refined concrete.

I see no problem. Paint just get removed.
But at last it's up to the devs how they want their game to be or to modders.

There is a mod, but vanilla doesn't correctly support this feature in blueprints.
