Roboport with radar function for minimap

Post by bulig87 »

TL;DR
Roboport with radar function for minimap in the coverage area.
What ?
Make the work area of the roboport be displayed in detail on the minimap.

Why ?
It is logical that the roboport scans the transportation zone and the construction zone around itself and can display this zone on the minimap as well as the radar or player, consuming a little more energy in standby mode. At the technology stage, when a player can build roboports, there is no need to scan radars, but radars are needed to control production by observing the minimap, but it is logical that the roboport can perform this function.

P.S. Sorry for my English. Im use Google Translator

The roboport is usually at the top of my list of power consumers. I'd rather have the roboport have the ability to reduce its power consumption. Adding a feature making it use more energy doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

It's a nice idea and I had a look and there is a mod that does this:

https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Roboport_Radar

It's not updated to 0.18 yet and it's a bit different from your request but I thought you might be interested.

I think this doesn't have to be a vanilla feature however. It's already so easy to just put down a radar every now and then, I don't think this is really necessary.
Mods: Shortcuts for 1.1, ick's Sea Block, ick's vanilla tweaks
Tools: Atom language pack
Text quickly seems cold and unfriendly. Be careful how you write and interpret what others have written.
- A reminder for me and all who read what I write
