Load game with mods issues/cases(?) / User Interface [v0.18.12]

Post by Melerion »

Game running and modified:
===========================
"Quit game" bring up warning
=> "Load game" skips modification check of current game/unsaved changes warning

Load game / mods mismatch:
===========================
If observed closely the information is there to see that mods do not match in the "Load game" screen.
However no warning or confirmation is given before loading maps with different mods.

=> Please introduce a warning "Are you sure?" when loading maps with different sets.
Or better yet A dialog with the options: "Back" "Sync" and "Ignore/Continue" => Once the game has been saved with the current set of mods that will not come up again anyway.

Could save time because one does not have to wait through the load process only to find out something is different (and prevent crashes due to mismatch).

That also applies to new mods installed not yet present in a save.

Active game => Load game:
===========================
As stated modified check is skipped.

But: click on the "Sync with save" button silently quits the running map (modified or not) in the background.
Even pressing "Back" etc will not return you to the map but drop into main menu.

Load game => Mods list:
===========================
Easy to see what's in the savegame and what is not present as currently active mods.
Not the other way around: would be nice to have an indicator of what is currently active but NOT in that savegame.

Et ceterum censeo...
===========================
May I request a keyboard shortcut for the Trains screen in game?
Some other buttons top right have one. And some panels most people have no idea exist also have one: Logistics panel, Kill screen.

Thank you.
