TL;DR

Change direction of pipes when put down from automatic to manual.

What ?

Instead of having pipes direction handled automatically, I suggest that pipes could have a direction, but no orientation. Long story short, you could either place north-south pipes or east-west, then the same logic that handle belt would change the direction of the soon-to-be-placed pipe:

Why ?

It will allow the placement of different fluids one next to another.

The img tag works like a charm. But it needs an actual image, not a link to a page containing an image.

https://mods.factorio.com/mod/PickerPipeTools pretty much does what you ask for :

(Pipes can also be clamped manually, using the Ctrl+R shortcut.)




P.S.: Sorry for the image sizes, the resize subtags for img (.gif) don't seem to work, and I haven't been able to find any for .webm...

Yes, it's pretty difficult to recognize this mod with that mod icon, on the icon image must be at least one clamped pipe.

Thanks to all of you. I checked the forum, but forgot to check if a mod existed.

Keep in mind, just because a mod exists doesn't mean it's necessarily a bad feature. The ability to lay pipes next to each other without fluid mixing honestly seems like a good base game feature.
