Sound effect when mod updates finish in the background

As I write this I have Factorio running in the background and my browser focused, because I'm in the middle of a 10+ minute mod update cycle. I would love for there to be a sound effect when the downloads finish.

Since factorio is already using the windows api for the status of loading in the taskbar, I think implementing flashing in the taskbar should be possible quick and easy. I wonder if there is a similar thing in linux/mac though.
