Insta-teleportation is kind of dull but as an upgrade to a personal train, maybe a flying vehicle without those wretched tank controls that you can freely fly around in regardless of terrain, call to your position and that can auto-move to markers built by you would do the trick.

Wasn't there an idea somewhere for a "control centre" that would enable you to easily remote manage parts of your base without being there? I think that would be a more Factorio-style thing than teleports in vanilla.

I think the added features to the map fill that function.
You can zoom in, rename train stations, select trains and lay down blueprints. Couldn't do that before.

I see it like this:

Classic Rail -> Monorail -> Maglev -> Hyperloop

A monorail will require a significant amount of electricity.
Maglev will require a huge amount of electricity and plants for magnetization rails.
Hyperloop will additionally require a vacuum station.

TL;DR
In the endgame I would like to see some kind of teleporting
What ?
I think about modules for the armor to reach a destination far away (Would use much power), with the options :
- Teleport inside of special buildings / somewhere you can see on radar)

and

Teleport items from one point to another. Maybe on a slow rate with high use of energy.

Why ?
Just because on huge maps even my private rail station takes some time to reach an area so I´d love to be able to beam me whereever I want.
You can work many things from distance, but not fighting (e.g)

My opinion : not fond of the idea for vanilla, but OK for modded gameplay, which is already possible (https://mods.factorio.com/query/teleport?version=0.16)
