Right now there's no way to check what your current mining speed is, without directly measuring the time it takes to mine basic ores (1/s at base, 2/s with steel).

The pickaxe slot could be re-added with the relevant 0.16 tool shown as in that slot, and mousing over it could show your mining speed (1/s or 2/s).

I like this idea. That spot looks too bare for players of previous versions.

there is this + tab above the map, that shows all boni
but you are right, 100% of ? is still a ?

Yeah... Mining time = 50% isn't that informative. 50% of what?
