Rotate screen so I don't have to eradicate biters downhill

Post by Mauslag PIngman »

I don't like fighting with laser turrets while going downhill. There's stuff blocking my view on the bottom so I'd like the map to be rotateable.

How about if we could build a jet pack with a sensor that automatically detects approaching trains and floats the player at a safe height until the danger passes. You could make it so its not triggered by biters or not.

that jetpack idea sounds stupid/overpowered
If you have trouble being run over by your trains there are blueprints for safe railroad crossings

there are no hills in factorio.

Anyway, I would have said that there's little reason why you shouldn't be able to rotate the map. there are actually a few entities with non-square non-rotatable bases, and these are your problem area. A couple of examples being Trees and stone furnaces.

you do however now have cliffs that don't really favour rotation.

I just want to turn off things that block my view/mouse. It’s hard to mine a power pole behind a tree without chopping down the tree.
