Run and place inconsistency between poles and undergrounds

Hello,
Tried a few searches to see if this had already been reported and I don't think it has that I can tell. Anyway, this may not be a bug, but it is at least an inconsistency that I noticed between placing power poles (all three types) vs. undergrounds (underground belts or underground pipes). To reproduce the inconsistency: Run and lay down a line of several power poles. Also lay down a line of several undergrounds (either piper or underground belts). Now with power poles, if you want to continue where you left off and lay down more, you have a choice. You can EITHER measure out the max distance for the next pole, hold left click and start running, or you can hold left click on the last pole that was placed and start running. For underground pipes and underground belts, you ONLY have ONE option to measure out the distance to place your next underground in order to continue placing. Would like to be able to hold down the left button on the last pipe/underground placed and then run, just like I can with power poles. But if I try this, I get an extraneous pipe/underground placed where I started running.

Thanks for any consideration on this matter.

Mesuring the exact distance is not the only way to go about udergroundies. For starters, the issue only arises when the last belt placed is a tunnel entrance. If it is an entrance, you can also delete or rotate the last belt placed and rebuild/overight it. But yeah, it is an inconsistency, and annoying often enough.
