I'd like to see a bridge system to get across water

As far as I can see the thread you linked only has train bridges listed not bridges you can walk over.

What about straight bridges you can make out of different materials and which can have a span like underground pipes.
Wooden bridges could decay faster than metal bridges (which do corrode, too).
