hi, it woul be a nice feeling, if the science would be slowed if the environment gets to dirty.

Another good feeling would come up, if the biters could fear the science labs or whatever. So if the biters do to much damage, the science is done heaviely slower.

And in both cases you can loose already done science. You keep the buildings build but you can´t place new buildings of that science. The buildings already build could become an info-sign. So if you research it again, the info-sign will go away and you can build this buildings again. It woul be a nice feeling seeing this info-sings going away. Like in anno, if a insurrecion is gone.

At all - there isn´t only 1 direction. And you can keep playing if the biters get stronger - not only loosing, because the overrun you. Because the strengh-up of the biters isn´t 100% put in the biters strengh any more. It´s devided into science-speedloss and biters-strengh. So you will loose development-speed - but can keep up playing. This woul be nice in multiplayer - so 1 player haven´t to leave, because of playing bad. But only loose science-speed.

I don't see why pollution levels should effect research speed.

Research can only be done if the environment is perfect. Scientists don´t work perfect, if the environment isn´t perfect. Science alsways keeps an eye on the environment and tops research and helping environment first. Labs cause environment-pullution-factor and if the environment is pulluted the factor is immense - so keepin it low in this times.
