Programmable Map Pin

TL;DR
map pins that can be controlled by a circuit.
What ?
- Make visible a pin: IE, "Station Ready"
- Change colors based on circuit condition like stations do when enabled / disabled.
These would be similar to the programmable speaker, but without sound and without the blinking icon (or at least be able to configure if it should blink or not) and would show its alert text on the map.
Why ?
There needs to be player made ways of influencing the map via game play. Not just the static map pins available now, but ones that can be configured within the circuit network. The programmable speaker is a close fit, but lacks some key features.
How could it be used?
If rail signals were used instead of station enabling, then zoomed out on the map there is no way to show if the station is (enabled / disabled) without also doing that to the station. Which makes trains route away or no path if the station is disabled, which isn't ideal. Map icons that could be displayed / altered based on conditions would be a fit, such as if A < B show red colored square icon (and text), or if B >= A show green colored square icon (and text).

I like this suggestion. It sound like it could be useful for many things.
