Belt placement - size control

Suggestion
It would be fantastic if belt placement had the same size-scaling feature as landfill and bricks/concrete, so it would be possible to place an entire block of belts at once.
It would be even better if belt placement took already existing belts into account when changing direction, so when I place a block of belts orthogonally to the existing bus, the game would automatically create the corner block.

Allow for placing multiple belts at a time

TL;DR
Similar to increasing the area of placing concrete/landfill, increase/decrease the #of belt segments wide you place by pressing +/-
What ?
Allow for the player to place multiple belts segments wide at a time by pressing + or -. The belt segments would be all facing the same way. Say you pressed + three times, you go from placing one segment (/\) to placing them four wide (/\ /\ /\ /\). Press 'r' to rotate, and the entire thing would rotate to:
>
>
>

Press 'r' again, and the segments would be pointing down (\/ \/ \/ \/).
I am on mobile, I can take screenshots when I am home.
Why ?
Makes placing buses easier as well as connecting distant outposts by belts. Also helps with upgrading swaths of belts at a time.

Huh. That would be really nifty for dropping down thick belt buses, especially pre-robots.

With Bluebuild rewritten for sure. Otherwise that only helps when you have bots.

Blueprints don't allow you to fast-replace belts of a lower tier.
If I was to have to choose I'd prefer bots were able to upgrade certain entities (yellow > red > blue belts, inserter > fast inserter, Assembler 1 > 2 > 3, etc) but they'd need to be able to fast-replace in the same way the player does so as to not interrupt the flow of the factory and dump 5,000 ores in your storage.

How about simply everything in the fast replace group? Also replace a yellow belt with one going another way.
And the way it could work is that you place a ghost over the belt, the bot brings a new belt, swaps it for the old and brings the old one to a storage container.

Neat idea, if only we had some kind of solution for placing multiple belts next to each other over long distances to make this easier to ghost...
Have Belts work like Concrete: +/- key can increase the width of belts

TL;DR
Map the +/- keys to increase or decrease belt widths.
What ?
Currently, Factorio has +/- keys mapped to landfill / Concrete / other elements to grow-or-shrink the templates. This is very useful for building large paths. Belts could theoretically be mapped to the same +/- button, increasing (or decreasing) the belts.
This would make it easier to build "busses", roughly 4-belts at a time.
Why ?
Factorio 1.1 has demonstrated that the developers are still thinking about belt-UI issues. With Belts now locking into straight lines by default, it is now harder to "spray" a bus by moving the mouse back and forth. By increasing the "width" of belts, the new "locked into straight lines" UI can still be used to build a bus conveniently.
