make all factorio versions accesiable to buyers

Post by ichVII »

TL;DR
Enable everyone, who bought the game to doownload whatever Version of the game they want to, in order to enable replaying any old saves.

What ?
Enable everyone, who bought the game to doownload whatever Version of the game they want to. (0.15.01 to 0.15.34 and so on). Or at least do it for all Versions you called stable.
I am specifically interested in using 0.15.33, as that is the Version my replay was recorded in.
Why ?
Becouse I and propably other People would like to be able to watch replays of all saves they recorded with replays.

https://www.factorio.com/download

I see versions going back to 0.6.4. Though, yeah, they only have the latest versions of each 0.x release but that should be enough I think.

No. Even going from 0.X.n to 0.X.n+1 within a save makes replays impossible

I'm fairly certain all of the 0.15.x versions (and maybe all the 0.14.x versions) are available on Steam. Of course, if you don't have Steam that would be a problem.

Hmm, I guess they must have removed them recently. Perhaps they remove them when they put out the stable version.

if you want to keep the ability to load replays. download the package version when you start playing, for safe keeping.

i would at least like to see the latest unstable experimental version of 32-bit be available. (0.14.10 i think it was)
if it's a question of bandwidth, maybe non supported versions could have a limit of bandwidth or some type of queue.

Pre alpha version 0.1 from Friday Facts #184.
how far Factorio has come!

https://www.factorio.com/download lists 32 bit versions for 0.14.23, so I'm guessing they are the last of the 32-bit versions.

right on, i thought they stopped 32bit at 0.14.10 but it was the multiplayer support.
so 0.14.9 was the last 32 bit version to support multiplayer.

We specifically don't keep the between experimental versions available because they're buggy and you should always use the stable versions when they're available.

If you want your replays to work - don't use the experimental versions - they're not meant for long term use and are only provided temporally.
If you want to get ahold of me I'm almost always on Discord.

The specific version i was asking for was 0.15.33, which you called a stable version for some time.
