food would be nice for early game. If i started the game for the first time, i felt to have survive. Food & Surviving are good friends.

I think you should add food into factorio, because it would add another layer into factorio. Just imagine the biters take out your power supply and you have to quickly make a temmpory food setup to survive. I feel this addition should be able to be disabled for when your speed running but I feel it would be a great addition to factorio.

We already have Fish for that.

I'm not against adding food as a heal item, it could be useful.

What I am against is it being a requirement to eat so that you don't starve, the game has enough going on as it is.

it´s fun for the endgame-feeling and before. In early game you have to eat quite often. In Midgame you produce better food. Combine food out of fish-fabrics and trees. And be able to get food out of the biter colonies in chance with the suitable technic. Later you don´t need that anymore and your belts have more free space. And in late game, you have something in your suit, where you have to be in the near of a food-fabric in real-life hours 20 to fill it up. But all the time, you have the feeling, getting better.

I like the idea to have food a start could be to make the fish edible. Additional to have something to eat it could be intresting to feed colonists as consumer of food (and maybe other stuff for consumer/colonists?)

and you pretty much start off with what I just said I DON'T want in the game.

Honestly, the requirement to eat food is one of the reasons why I quit playing minecraft when Beta was released (There's more reasons), why I don't like games like 7 days to die, or don't starve. It's not fun for me, it's frustration.

so you are able to work, to get the food-problem solved. You can automate it more an more.
