Splitter: Configure split ratio

I'd like to suggest that Splitter's have a configuration setting to control the ratio at which items are split.
Perhaps buttons to set the Splitter to - 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, etc.

I have several cases where I want to pull a portion of a commodity out off a belt, without starving downstream production.
Such as iron for ammunition. I typically will put an inserter into the output line of my smelter, such that the inserter is upstream from some of the smelters, ensuring that the output from those downstream smelters continues on to another destination. This works, but it's disruptive to the cleanliness of having a raw-materials line.

maybe try using stacked splitters

e.g use 3 splitters, one to half the first lane, the next to turn that half into a quarter (which goes to ammo) and the third to put the unused quarter back into the main stream
its a bit more fiddley but gives you a 1:3 ratio...

Ya, i thought about that. It can be done, it's just space consuming, and hard to fit into an existing layout, which I found myself pretty far along (automating blue potions) when I had resource starvation issues.

Splitters with split ratio control were what we intended to do with the regular splitter. We have started with a simple 1:1 version to see how will people use it and whether the configurable version will be neccessary.

Yes I consider too that this very much and very necessary function, I consider that it is necessary to have an opportunity will change ratios of proportions of division of streams, reputable developers very much I ask think over this idea or give the chance to people to modify parameters of splitters in modding instruments
we can't constantly force to transfer logistic robots all things, logistic robots require energy costs, they need to be recharged from time to time

It's not going to happen. You can already get any ratio you want by adding splitters.

See viewtopic.php?f=80&t=518 Smart Splitter (-Suggestions will never End)

There are also some good articles in that post and I added now also a link to the wiki.

Then too bulky heap from spliters turns out

Applying standard Factorio logic, then you shouldn't be trying to building splitters with such specific ratios.
