Would it be possible to be able to set the destination of a train that is waiting at a train stop using logistics?

EG you still have the schedule list but each station name can have a condition so that when the train receives a logic signal it will leave for that station skipping/ignoring all the others and if no conditions are set the train will behave as it does now, just goes down the list one by one.

By the way, it is already possible to deactivate individual stations using the circuit network, so that trains will skip orders to go to that station. However, this will cause the station to be closed for ALL trains.

Thanks for the replies, of the two though the reply by Tekky is the closest to how I envisioned it. The Train station skipping conditions could also be handy.

The ability to turn off stations with logic seems, to me at least a bit of a double edged sword because unless you're really careful with the track layout and a station is closed with a train en route to it that train will stop dead with the No Path message. I am aware loops can solve this but I try to avoid using loops if at all possible.

I shall attempt to explain my idea more clearly :-

Let's say you have a train network layout consisting of a main smelter, various ore mines, eg iron mine 1-3 and a holding area for the trains. The trains waiting in the holding area would have in there schedule Iron Mine 1, Iron Mine 2, Iron Mine 3, smelter then back to the holding area. The iron mines can send out a signal saying they have enough ore to fill your train, say 1, 2 or 3 (not values but the 'symbol') for each iron mine respectively. The trains destination conditions would be leave for Iron Mine 1 if you receive a signal of 1 or Iron Mine 2 if received 2 etc, then when it's at the mine it can leave for the smelter when cargo = full, go to the smelter and leave for the holding area when cargo = empty and repeat ad infinitum.

Then if you add in the train ID's etc you could end up with a really smart rail network.

While I admit it is similar to the other ideas, I hope this helps explains my idea a bit clearer.
