Quicksave / quickload

It would be great to add quicksave and quickload feature.
It could make 3 saves just like autosave but triggered manually.

While it's perhaps not necessary quicksave and load is pretty handy at times

That topic is nothing else then versioning of worlds in a repository.
Cool suggestion: Eatable MOUSE-pointers.

I have frankly no idea how this here is related to names of saves. This is about having a key binding for "save game".

I'm reviving this topic. It's reasonable to assume 4 years ago this was nowhere near enough of a priority, but now with 0.17 / 1.0 on the horizon this might be the time to review it.

I'm playing a vainilla marathon rail deathworld and I've spent the last ~10 hours exploring the map looking for an iron patch.

The thing is, every time I clear a nest I have to menu > save game > save > resume, which becomes tedious very fast. One may suggest to just reduce the auto-save timing to 1-2 minutes, but I don't want to be interrupted in the middle of a fight.

I think a QuickSave bindable hot-key would be a huge quality of life improvement. Thanks!

I recently stumbled over this post, when a friend was asking for this feature.

After seeing the saves the 0.17 Tutorial created, I looked into modding to see if quicksave would be possible.
A few modding tutorials later I had a (very simple) working mod, that uses a key to create saves.
If everything worked right it should be available through the mod portal now.

It does not support Quickloading, as I don't think that that is possible using mods.
Also keep in mind, that playing with mods uses different achievements.

Also +1 from me to get this into vanilla Factorio.
